I have a 323 that's been configured for a while now with a significant amount of data loaded. The current configuration is Raid 1 but I just found that during my initial configuration, I did not enable automatic rebuilding.
My question is - if I select automatic rebuilding now and save the setting, will it over write anything? When I started to save my settings, I received a warning that indicated saving my changes could result in lost data.
If I will lose the data, how can I correct this? Would it be better to pull one of the drives, insert a new one into the 2nd position, and then make the change so that it creates a new mirror at the same time? I'm a bit of a newb when this system so any guidance is appreciated.

If the RAID-1 array is working normally, selecting automatic rebuilding will just set the option, it won't do anything until you have a sync issue with one of the drives.

First - looking at your questions - I get the impression you may not have a backup, if that's correct, then let's start with that - RAID1 is not a backup, so you first step should be to create a backup plan and then back up the data regularly.
Now - automatic rebuild - I'm inclined to say it doesn't do what you think it does, and it makes no difference if it's enabled or not. the theory is that enabling automatic rebuild will allow a failed drive to be automatically rebuilt - in my experience it doesn't - if you simulate a drive failure by removing a drive and then inserting a new drive, the unit still prompts you to format the new drive, it does NOT automatically rebuild.
