Title: Download problem
Post by: ccannon on December 16, 2009, 09:54:22 AM
Unique problem. I hope someone can help solve it:

Vista computers behind the DIR-825 running Internet Explorer 7 or 8 are unable to download files over a certain size when making a request to one of our web servers. I know the problem is not with the server or the computer because I put the computer on another network, without the DIR-825 and it worked. Also, I swapped out the DIR-825 for another router and the download worked on all the Vista/IE computers.

Here is a test link:

Behind the DIR-825, the Vista/IE 7 or 8 computers can download the 30K file, but they cannot download the 400K file.

Please, if someone knows of a config setting on the DIR-825 that might affect browser or file caching, or something else that might be causing this problem, let me know.

CC,

I can't help with your issue but an FYI, both Homers open just fine with XP running wireless with the 825.

Cheers ;)

Thanks for the Homer check. You won't believe what the actual problem was. It was the router in front of the test computers. I swapped out the router and everything worked fine.
