Title: Adding VPN to network with DIR-655

I currently have a DIR-655 installed with several PCs behind it and would like to add VPN capability. Specifically, I want remote users to be able to connect to one of the PCs behind the 655.

One seemingly obvious choice is to add a DIR-130 behind the 655, however, I see several threads here suggesting that this is problematic. What is the recommended solution for allowing external users to connect to a PC behind the 655?
