Title: DIR-615 PC will not stay asleep
Post by: Glaxxo on December 20, 2009, 08:17:07 AM
Hello to all,

I wonder if someone could help me fixing this issue: The PC running windows 7 PRO will not stay into sleep mode with my DIR-615 (H/W C1 F/W 3.11NA) but it does with the old Linksys WRT54G router!

I have tried to put the PC into sleep mode manually and even let it go by itself and after a few seconds, 10 to 30, the PC wakes up.

The PC is connected via a CAT 5 cable
The D-Link is set with factory default

Thanks for any input

Hi, Have you checked the "Wake On LAN" (WOL) setting for your LAN adapter? I'm an XP guy but I'm sure the settings are similar under Windows 7. In the XP network connections menu, Rt. click on Local Area Connection -> Properties -> Configure to launch the Network Configuration Properties for the LAN adapter. There should be an advanced tab with a selection for wake settings that allows you to disable WOL. If all else fails, Google "Wake on LAN Win 7" or similar. Note that some motherboards control this setting in the BIOS. Best of luck!
