Title: FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY - Shareport minor problem
Post by: DirtyDawg on December 25, 2009, 04:46:55 AM
Just wanted to pass on a POSSIBLE FIX for anyone having difficulty with the "Shareport" function of the DIR-655.  I noticed just yesterday that the Network USB utility has major problems finding the drive I have plugged into the Shareport on the router when my system(s) come out of "Sleep" mode.   ALL I NEED DO is close out the utility and then load it back up again and the utility finds it right away.  Just a thought as to what may be going on with some of you having difficulty.  Hope this helps someone.

No, no.  I suppose I should put a signature with all my stats in it, but that particular post was just for informational purposes to possibly help someone else.  I personally don't mind shutting down the program and loading it back up :).  Takes all of 5 seconds.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64b, 6G's of Physical mem, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8400 @2.66GHz.
Sony VPCL116FX.

I haven't check my other systems to see if they have the same difficulty, so it could very well be just something with this Sony system, not sure yet.  I figured though that it would still be a good piece of info to pass on to the group just in case someone else could rectify their problem with the same simple step.

UPDATE:  It "SEEMS" like there are problems with wireless systems only.  I say this because I have two systems that are wireless on my LAN, the Sony that I've already mentioned in this post, and a laptop.  The only system I don't have problems with is my one and only desktop that I have directly plugged into the router.  All systems run the same OS, but my desktop is 32b, that is the only difference.
