How do I know if I configure my DFL-210 correctly.
« on: December 26, 2009, 06:28:39 PM »

Hi

My ISP dynamic DHCP
I use cable modem
I have fixed dynamic IP (right now is my static IP connected to my DIR-685 Router)
I have own domain name.
The IP I have now xx.xx.74.155 is not my static IP the static IP must be xx.xx.43.22

Config DFL-210

I have configure the dynamic DHCP and then created a DNS Relay

Problem

My ISP does not have attached my fixed IP to my DFL-210 (it is meant to be attached to my DFL-210 MAC address) that is why I doubt I have configure my DFL-210 correctly.

On my DFL-210, I can see there are 3 MAC addresses on interface Status

One of the wan
One of the lan
One of the DMZ

Well if your ISP allows static addresses you could enter it as a static address.

Failing that you could spoof your DIR-655's MAC on your DFL's WAN Interface.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Now I've got my fixed IP link my DFL-210 but when ping from the DOS Command Prompt get 100% loss 4 times writes the Request timed out
When I do a tracert google.dk I also get Request timed out in route 1 and 2

Block DFL-210 for out and incoming traffic?

Just another question, it would be an idea to config DFL-210 WAN Interface Type Static IP?

I config my domain name on DFL-210 because when I write www.mydomain.dk I come into the DFL-210 and not on my server

Well you are going to need to configure rules if you want to be able to ping the DFL itself.

There is a post from about 4 months back about trying to insure it responds to trace routes.

I am not worried about trace routes through this thing so I would put that as our last issue.

Yes, a static could be configured if your ISP would abide, best not to play with fire if we have it up though.

You will need to have a port forward forwarding HTTP traffic to a server, then you will need to change the port of your DFL's remote management to not conflict.  This can be done under System->Remote Management->Advanced Settings.
