Transfer direct to voicemail ?
« on: February 02, 2009, 10:17:25 AM »

Other phone systems allow you to transfer directly to a users voicemail box, is there any way to have the receptionist transfer a call directly to a voicemail box, without it ringing at the voicemail box users extension first?

This seems like a very common feature on other systems, but i've searched extensively and cant find out how on this system.

There is no feature to allow a call to be transferred to the voicemail directly.

Thanks for the reply.

I would appreciate it if you could submit this for future upgrade consideration.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on, this phone system absolutely does this!!!

It is very simple, 2 ways to do it, either have the receptions press the RP button and say "Transfer to John Doe's Voice Mail" and poof it goes directly to voice mail, or you can use they keypad.  I think the voice mail transfer code is 6 * extension number #.

Come on DLink, get with it here...

PCTechie .... you are the man. Thanks.

Also after SP2 install i also found out you can ask RP "what can i say" and it will give you all of its programmed commands.

then if you look at the display after giving a command, it shows the star function for that command.

4* is page(1 way intercom)
5* is intercom (2 way)
6* is transfer park to VM
7* is transfer park to extension

Someone should make a sticky with all the RP commands, and the star functions for quick reference.

Yes BSGINC you got it.

One other command is 8* Park number

That will retrieve a call parked from whatever park spot...

The voice commands are nice, but most of my users are more content with using the keycode commands.  There would be way too much talking going on if they were constantly saying the commands...Plus they just feel more confident punching in the numbers than having to repeat themselves sometimes...I made them a little cheat sheet with the commands on them.  Now that they have used the system for a while, they don't even need it.

I just installed SP2, I see a few more features added in...COOL...

OK, I tried the 6*### to go to voicemail directly, but the attendant comes on and states "This Extension does not have voicemail enabled, transfer cancelled".  If I say "Transfer to Dave's Voicemail", seems to work fine.  Secretary would prefer not to be speaking "Response Point" if possible.  Is there a setting I have turned on?  I've tried toggling the "Go to voicemail/email".  Nothing seems to effect it.
