I am having issues connecting to my slingbox from work. I have no issues on my network at home using the router, but cant connect to a open network from work. I was able to do this before; but cant with this router.

"The port 5678 used for the main server is block in the location that you are trying to connect, so use the direct connection option in the SlingPlayer to connect"

I tried doing direct connect from my slingbox and the above did not help.  Maybe something wrong with settings?

You need to open your slingbox port to the outside.  Go into your router, Advanced, Virtual Server and set it up.  Here's the settings for my system.

Name         IP Address              Protocol / Ports     Schedule   Inbound Filter
Sling Box    192.168.0.237        TCP 5001 → 5001  Always      Allow All

Make this change and all should be well.

The IP address is of your SlingBox.  It may be .237 if you have the defaults, like mine.
