Standard 1.21NA 2009/7/09
« on: January 07, 2010, 07:35:11 AM »

I am having the same up time issues as everyone else, I've done a little reading and am in the process of starting to troubleshoot the issue. I am starting up class again, and if this bombs out on a final or midterm test... D-Link WILL lose a customer for life.

But onto the subject, instead of first jumping on the band wagon, I have disabled Logging, as this seems to be some issue on other versions of the firmware as well. (This is step 1)

I will update the post as I try new solutions.

Standard v1.21NA 2009/7/09 was not a good build and not stable. If your 4500 is at this now, update to the Beta 03 or 08. I'm on 03 now and it's doing great on A1 HW. Beta 08 is good but the wifi randomly disconnects more than I like so I went back to Beta 03. Let us know how this works for you.

I am happy to say, that after disabling all logging, I have been up and working for a solid 24hr, without ANY random dropped connections or downtime on any of my laptops.

Also - Furry - I am following a specific self set diagnostic routines, I know all of you have had troubles with 1.21NA and for some reason, the fact that I can turn off JUST Logging to solve the problem, will probably help the Techs fix this problem, instead of running and gunning to a new build immediately.

P.S. This could be premature, but I'm at the 24hr mark and will reply back after 1 week of uptime, or sooner, depending on if my uptime is interupted. It would be very sad if the only things plaguing these routers is the Logging and no one identified that as the single cause of this issue. (3 builds later...)
I will be back with more information as I have it.

P.S.S If anyone from D-Link would like me to further test something specific, please just let me know.

Sounds good, seems like this logging is having some issues on certain builds. I'm not seeing this on Beta 03 accept I don't have all the logging disabled, just 3 options are enabled. Well, hope it works out and let us know how it does.
