I couldn't restore my config file when I flashed to 1.32NA but read some earlier threads here and found out that's just the way it is (thought it would have been nice if D-Link told me this so I would have screen-captured my settings). Knowing I had no backup, I immediately made a copy of the 1.32NA config file.

Yesterday, the router reset itself.  My WPA2 devices could see my wireless network, but couldn't connect.  I figured a restore couldn't hurt, so I tried to restore using my brand-new (4 days old) config file created in the same firmware version the router is running.  SAME error:  The configuration files is not correct, parameters out of bounds, etc.

I love my DIR-655, but it is annoying to have to spend an hour reconfiguring it like this.  What gives?

PS - Oddly enough, it *will* restore an August 2007 config file that I had when I migrated from 1.XX to 1.05, although that file is so out of date it doesn't save me much time.

Anybody tried a save/restore within 1.32NA?

In my case some changed settings in the DHCP (NetBIOS section) prevented the restore of the settings file.
After I changed them back to defaults I could save and restore settings within different versions.

The router showed in its log which settings were not accepted

But it is not sure that everything runs propperly if you use settings file from older version when updateing the router, so it is better resetting the device to defaults and configuring it from the scratch.
