I have a 1.5TB WD usb drive that I just purchased. For now I want to use it as a USB drive, but my plan eventually is to remove the enclosure and add it to my dns-321, which currently has a single seagate drive. My setup will always be two separate volumes.
Now, although I am using the USB drive with a windows machine, I considering formatting the drive as ext2, using it with windows for now, then later add it to the dns-321. I am hoping that by doing this, I will not have to reformat the drive and lose any data I store on the drive.
I cannot test this now as if I crack open the USB drive, it would be hard to put it back together.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance
