DNS-321 Format Raid 1 array member

I formatted 1.5TB drives in Raid 1 configuration (EXT3) -using FW Rev 1.03 on DNS-321. I removed the one of the drives and tried adding data on a ubuntu box the ubuntu did not recognize the format because it was marked as "raid 1 member". So my question: is there any way to go back to RAID 0 so the drive will be recognized by any other linux box?

RAID-0 drives will never be recognized by any other system, the data is striped across the two drives!

If you still have a drive that hasn't been corrupted from a RAID-1 array, the NAS should allow you to access it and copy your files off.
