I am using the DIR-655 extreme gigabit gaming router for my ps3.

IP address
: 192.168.123.50.
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
Default Router: 192.168.123.254
Primary DNS: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Secondary DNS: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
MTU: 1492
Proxy: do not use
Umpn: Available
NAT Type: Failed
Everytime I do Network Test it obtains a IP and it gets a internet connection then Fails at PlayStation@Network.
Here is what I have done to trouble shoot this:
1. I eliminated the router all together.. Connected DSL modem directly to the Playstation and configured my PPOE settings and it connects just fine to the PlayStation@Network without any problems. Sense this will impede the use of any other network device this is not a optimal setup. But it does point to my router/firewall settings.
2. Connected the router back up. Reserved a DHCP IP address for the PS3 192.168.123.50 and I put it in the DMZ. Same thing no PlayStation@Network.
3. I configured port forwarding and still no joy.
Funny thing is I created and registered my Playstation@Network account using the PS3 and if I use my PC (which is connected to the same router ) I can login without any problems.
THis is a log from my router:
[INFO] Sat Jan 31 10:43:02 2004 UPnP deleted entry 255.255.255.255 <-> 220.157.135.79:3658 UDP
[INFO] Sat Jan 31 10:42:51 2004 Blocked outgoing ICMP packet (ICMP type 3) from 192.168.123.50 to 198.107.157.138
[INFO] Sat Jan 31 10:42:51 2004 UPnP added entry 255.255.255.255 <-> 220.157.135.79:3658 <-> 192.168.123.50:3658 UDP timeout:-1 '192.168.123.50:3658 to 3658
I can update the PS3 software as the internet works fine and I can browse the internet without problems the only frustrating thing is I can't play online unless I connect to The Playstation@Network.
