DDNS & UPnP Settings Page on 5300g won't update
« on: February 05, 2010, 09:13:59 AM »

I just installed the 1.2 firmware for my 5300g, revision A.

It is working, but when I go to the page:
"DDNS & UPnP Settings"

whenever I enter the required info in there and hit apply, it refuses to accept the changes. The screen just stays the same and in the bottom of the browser it says:

waiting for: xxxxxxx/setup/ddns.cgi..

(xxxxxx is the ip address of the cam on my network)

Why won't this page update? Everything else seems to work fine. Everything worked fine before I updated the firmware to 1.2.

I guess I will have to revert back to the original firmware. The reason I updated in the first place is because I was having the camera lock up every few days, which required me to power cycle it.

I was hoping the new firmware might fix it. But from what I am reading on here, it sounds like the 5300g has problems when using Dlink routers. I recently "upgraded" to a DIR 825 in order to get gigabit ethernet ports, so that is probably my problem with the lockups.

Pathetic that they can't make their products compatible with each other.

Well everything works normal after reflashing to the original firmware.

The only thing I can think of is that I should have reset to factory defaults after upgrading the first time. But I'm not going to bother trying it again until I get my wired network up and running.

Hopefully the freeze-ups stay to a minimum so I don't have to keep pulling the power cord out every few days.
