Am I doing something wrong?
« on: December 04, 2010, 02:22:56 PM »

Is it really this slow?  I have read a bunch of posts where speed is not anywhere close to what the manufacturer claims, but this is absolutely atrocious!

I'm running Gigabit ethernet to a mac mini through power adapters. I was trying to upload a 13GB file to the NAS and it took over an hour.  Only about 2.3 MB/s upload speed. Then I tried to stream the 1080p video back to my mac mini using Plex as the media server and the video was all choppy and could not keep up. This really sucks! Even my external HDs that are USB 2.0 into my Airport Extreme stream faster and significantly smoother.

Any suggestions on settings to change to at least get something manageable? I set it to jumbo frames (9000)  and tried both "auto" and "1000" for the LAN speed with NO improvement.

Thanks
