Hello all,
I just bought a DIR-628 router at a very good price.  It has been throughly tested, and has everything except the installation CD, which I was told by the seller that I will not need it.  Do all of the routers have the same default IP address?  I hope I was not being lied to, and I wind up with a useless piece of equipment.  I have the installation CD from my 615, but I'm sure that would not work.  In the even I do in fact need that CD, where might I acquire one, or will I be able to acquire one?

The included CD is just the user manual and a "third party" utility to "manage" the first install settings of the router.  It is not needed.

Yes, routers of the same "model" number are usually using the same "default" settings for the LAN (same IP addresses 192.168.1.1)  and the same WAN / Internet connect method (DHCP.)  

You should not mix the CDs from different router modules as the internal web pages are not the same.

It set up in minutes. I have a 300Mbps WAP2 connection, and am very happy.  One thing I noticed is every once in a while, it will disconnect for a few seconds, and then reconnect.  So far it has not caused a problem, but I have a Wi-Fi Blu-Ray player coming that will stream netflix, and I'm afraid that the random disconnects may cause problems.  There is no real pattern, it just happens once in a while without warning.

Is this normal behavior, or is there something else going on?
