Router Login Problem
« on: December 29, 2008, 03:55:03 PM »

Well i've bought this router 3 days ago and eventually found that i cant login to the router.

I try to login,

It gives errors like: An error occurred on this page. This might be because you are
not properly logged in, for example just after a reboot.
Press OK to go to the login page, or Cancel if you want to see
the error message.

if i press ok, then returns to login page again.

when i press cancel it says that;

The error on line 611 of http://192.168.0.1/gateway.js is:
"missing ] in index expression".

but when i press cancel again then it says:

The error on line 30 of http://192.168.0.1/createdata.js is:
"syntax error".

and only option is pressing ok.

it loops forever i guess.

Uses Fw 1.7, hard reset for a 100 times.

Is there a solution for it or should i give it back?

thank you.

Esh,

Are you able to get to the log in page? What are you entering in for the username? by default username is admin and there is no password. If you're still experiencing this after several hard resets.. I would recommend returning it if you just recently purchased it and get a new one.

I have had the DGL-4300 for a couple of years and is has been awesome. But recently it has been messing up and it all started with the exact same error messages described here. Its weird, because I haven't change any setting on it at all and it just stared doing this. PLEASE, has anyone found a solution to this?

I have the same issue....even on the simulator on dlinks support site.  Which leads me to believe its an issue with the client system, like java or something.

Same error message here.  Seems more common if the router was just rebooted.  And the router does not seem to recognize the devices that are connected for awhile.

I have a different login problem.  I upgraded from firmware 1.4 to version 1.9 and that went well.  I was able to login and change the SSID and other options.  I had backed up my network settings through the router interface and decided to import them.  After rebooting, I was unable to log back into the router.  ipconfig /all reveals that the IP isn't the standard 192.168.0.1 even after pressing the reset button numerous times.  The IP is 169.254.243.163 I also noticed that there is no gateway.   I have rebooted my cable modem and router many many times. I even added a route from the cmd line "route ADD -p 10.0.0.0 MASK 255.255.0.0 169.254.243.1" if I remember that correctly.  I'm not an expert so I'm hoping that someone here can assist me.  BTW, the route print command does show the gateway as 169.254.243.1 in the routing table.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Ok I have had mine a few years as well. it works excellent with the exception of a simular login in issue.
I can log in but when I try and enter or negotiate to another tab, it exits and loops bak to the login, I can see a message flash in the back ground but is happnes so fast I can read it.  I also get the above error messages as well.  I have been living with it and I just keep looging in and try again and again to make a change and eventually it will allow me before it falls back to the logon screen. Waht can I do?

I found a solution to the line 107 error.

Its caused by using an apostrophe in your DHCP Reservation list.

Change "John's Laptop" to "Johns Laptop" and voila!

Too easy!

I have had my router for a few months. I set it up nicely. Now I can't get onto the login screen. 192.168.0.1 times out. I never get to log into anymore. This happened when me and my GF moved to a new house. I have the same router at my moms house and it still runs great. I can still log onto that one.
