One thing I LOVE about my DNS is that I can upload and start torrents remotely via my smart phone (windows mobile 6.1) but I've been having some headaches trying to find one browser that can effectively download torrents (uhh... for my... linux distros... yeah, that's it!) and upload them to my DNS via it's built in control panel.

When I try to use the Internet Exporer built into my windows device, I get this error message about an invalid path (I'd have to try again to find out the exact message). With Opera Mini when I try to upload, the browser just loads a blank screen and does nothing. Opera 9.5 is kinda slow and very frustrating to use (the damned thing zooms in and out when I'm trying to click any of the buttons). Skyfire, if memory serves, wouldn't even allow me to log into my DNS's CP.

Anyone have any luck with any windows mobile web browsers and their DNS control panel? Or is there an app out there that can make this any easier?

windows mobile works great via the browser, both IE, Opera mini and even the new beta for Firefox works good too.  There is no specific browser for what you are trying to do.

Save for the fact that you can't start any torrents without having to type in the entire http path manually (no cut & paste yet).

you've tested opera mini and confirmed that it works? what version are you using?

Sorry for the newbie question...but how do you do this?  I have an iPhone, and the ability to do this remotely sounds like something I'd definitely like to be able to do.  I know how to access the FTP server remotely, but how can I access the BT menu and settings?

Yeah, I have some really slow motion of viewing the DNS web interface with Nokia E61i(Symbian s60,3d)
I think its probably due to the slow processor on the phone and the DNS.

I think that's something you need to setup with your router to ensure that it will accept remote connections from the internet (like your phone) and you should be able to login from the web and upload torrents to your server.

How old is the phone, phonescoop.com isn't give any spec on the processor. Could also have something to do with the browser you're using.

Currently the method I'm using, for windows mobile 6.1, is to download the torrents from whatever torrent site the file is located with Opera mini. Then I use Opera Mobile 9.5 build 1184 to upload the torrents. I can't use opera mini to upload the torrents because every time I try is takes me to a pop-up page and the file never actually uploads =/. Also I noticed that if you have a lot of torrent files in your list, active or not, it tends to lag my phone's browser. I'm using a HTC Mogul/Verizon XV6800.

Has anyone with iPhone OS 3.0 tried cutting and pasting torrent links into the bit torrent client and gotten it take the cut & paste?  I can cut an http link and paste it anywhere else just fine.  However, if I try to paste it in the DNS323 torrent dialog box, it still remains empty.....

Anyone else?

I figured that's some kind of router setting...I knew enough to be able to set up the FTP server and be able to access it...but I would need a little help with setting this up.  Anyone willing to help me with that? I'd really appreciate it.

Might help by letting us know what router you're currently using, but usually if you have your ftp setup for remote access you can just type in http://(insert your address here, no 'www's') and it should take you to your NAS's CP. Thanks for the thread hijack btw
