After viewing the responses here, going over the documentation for both the modem and router and several Google searches for this issue, I was finally able to rectify the problem. In hindsight it was a much simpler fix than I first thought.
All I had to do was go into the modem’s DHCP Server Configuration (via Expert Mode) and change the IP address to 192.168.0.254 from 192.169.1.254 and change the DHCP Start and End Addresses to 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.253, respectively. I then changed the router’s IP address to 192.168.1.1 and range to 192.168.1.10 thru 192.168.1.99, and everybody was happy.
Thanks for everyone’s input.
Regards.
