DGL 4500 Drop Connection And Loss Speed Please Help
« on: March 16, 2010, 02:05:56 PM »

After 3-4 days of connected to the internet, my dgl 4500 needs to have a reset. I don't change any settings on the router and the modem can connect just fine. It is the dlink modem only if anyone wanted to know. Also between the Dgl 4500 and an AT&T Gateway 2701 HG-B, the AT&T router gets more speed. It goes 5300kbps and the DGL goes 4700kbps. Could it be loss in modem to router?

FW v1.21NA has issues of hanging and or loosing internet connections. Upgrade to v1.22NA and this fixes the issue. I have a A1 HW using v1.22NA and haven't had any issues in hanging or disconnects. Save off your configuration file, Do the FW update, perform a factory reset after the update, then upload the configuration file so you don't have to manually-reconfigure the router. Use FireFox to save off the config file is best. Let us know how this goes.
