When I set up backup scheduling, I accidentally set up both drives to backup to each other. The problem in this is quite obvious, however I did not realize it at first. This would put them in an endless loop of backing up files between each other, copying the contents of each HD over and over again. When I realized this was happening, I stopped it and tried to delete the backups. However, when I try to do this on my Macbook Pro OS 10.6.2 through Finder, I get the error message: "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items." I'm logged in as myself, which has full rights, so does anyone have any idea as to why I cannot delete these backups? I've already deleted the scheduled backups so technically they are just folders sitting on the HD.

I thought more about it and my guess is the only way to delete them would be to log into the NAS via terminal as admin (as in admin from the home page of the NAS) and delete the files through terminal. Does anyone have any idea how to do this and even if it would work?

Well, you can format the drives...

If you don't have something like fun_plug running, your only option is using the interfaces supplied.  Have you tried setting up FTP for the whole volume and removing them using an FTP client?
