Can I add a single new hard drive
« on: April 06, 2010, 04:48:48 PM »

I have the DNS-323 configured as 2 seperate drives.
Volume 1 and Volume 2.  They are both 500 gigs.
I want to add a new 1tb drive as Volume 2.
Then transfer Volume 1 (500 gig.) to Volume 2 (1tb.)

Then can I remove Volume 1 and replace it with the 500 gig. "Volume 2" and transfer that data
to the new Volume 2 which is 1 tb.  IS this possible?

Thanks,

Milton

Yes, it's possible.

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.
