cannot connect to HD
« on: February 06, 2010, 03:03:33 AM »

I have put a HD of 500 GB in my 685. I have set the router to open mode HD access. At my vista computer I can see the HD in my windows explorer in Network as DIR 685 but it does not open when i double click on it. What did I wrong?

Did you format it when you installed it? There should have been a pop-up on the LCD asking you if you want to. There's also a button in the storage section of the web interface.

Try rebooting the router also have you set your directories up. This router does not like running  for long periods so you have to reboot to clear it. If this does not work power it down and up again. This not worth the money I paid for it. The only good thing is the 1gb throu-put.  >:(

Can you see it in the router page ie 192.168.1.1 or what ever. I presume you have formated it via the router. Have you got network discovery enabled in windows 7 also the harddrive is in workgroups on the network. Good luck M
