DIR-825 - I can't see the 5 ghz network?
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:21:26 AM »

I'd like my DAP-1522 to bridge to my DIR-825, but it only sees the 2.4 ghz network.  The 5.0 ghz network is set up identical to the 2.4 ghz network on my 825 except for the SSID (I named them DLink24 and DLink50).  When I do a site survey all I see is DLink24.  Status window shows connections only to DLink24.  Any ideas how to connect to the 5,0 ghz network?

connect/login to your routher.  When you are logged in, on the first page under Device Info/General/Wireless Lan... you should see a Wireless Band: 5 Ghz Band.  Just bellow that, does it say Wireless Radio: Enabled?  If not, you may need to enable the radio for the 5 Ghz band.  If I recall correctly, the radio is not enabled by default.

I have had the same problem, even with 5ghz enabled.  To fix it, I logged into router on 2.4ghz, went to wireless manual settings, and saved the settings. I got the error: do you want to save even though there are no changes. Say yes and the 5ghz radio comes on. I discovered this accidentally, but I have had this problem numerous times and it works every time for me. Extremely annoying bug.

The fix I recommended still works, but the wireless sometimes comes back so incredibly weak it only has a range of a few feet.
