Explanation of Add-On packages
« on: August 07, 2010, 03:38:34 PM »

I wanted to find some some detailed explanation and manuals for the add-on packages listed here under "Downloads"

http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DNS-323&tab=3

For example, exactly what does the APKG add-on do and how do you configure?

The add on packages allow you to select and install new features. Not all users need/want them, so it is great to have a choice to install only the ones you want. It also keeps the firmware small as typically in the past these features would simply have been included in the firmware.

The other advantage is that at some point in the future an SDK will be released and 3rd party people/companies can write applications that can be installed and managed legitimately.

Thank you for the reply, but what I looking for is some description of what each of the packages does, and how they are configured.  A user manual, so to speak, for each.
