Choppy image printing
« on: June 12, 2010, 01:24:38 PM »

Hello, I have a DIR-655 and it is connected to my printer, a HP Officejet J4580. Printing text works perfectly, but each time I try to print pictures, it prints the picture in 2 or 3 pages. The printed picture is cut in 3 or 2 parts and each single parts are printed on a different page... I'm wondering how I can fix it.

By the way, my computer is a HP laptop running on Win 7 x64.

Thanks for the reply,

Hi,

Welcome to the Windows 7 x64 Shareport crappy printing group.

I solved my problem by installing one of those little USB print server gizmos off ebay.  It doesn't give full bi-directional data transfer, but it solved my Shareport problems.

The more expensive units do supposedly allow for full bi-directional data transfers (ink levels and such) but obviously cost more than the $25 or so I wanted to spend.

If they ever get shareport fixed for Win 7 x64, I may try it again. investing too many hours trying to get it working under x64, I gave up on it for now.

Just my 2 cents...  Please let us know if you resolve this issue for your situation.
