D-Link Engineers??

Has anyone seen any posts from any D-Link engineers in a long time?  I thought that this froum was set up so we could post our problems so that others including D-Link could help solve them. I wonder if there are any left?

Since we have not heard anything on new firmware are there anyone at D-Link working on it or are we stuck with the buggy firmware that we have now.  Others have mentioned Synology and Qnap and I checked there websites and they have had several updates this year. Real updates which we have not got in a year.

We all agree that no one has error free firmware but it sure would be nice to have the assurance that it is being worked on and some kind of date when to expect it. Remember when D-Link would release Beta firmware to fix some of our major problems.  I don't even see that.

If you really want a laugh here is a quote from the president of D-Link:

Do you really believe what a CEO says?

These people are like politicians. They just group togeher a set of nice words. When I read a beautiful sentence, I immediately stop reading the rest. Typically the wonderful words are:

commitment
satisfaction
success
deliver service
high quality

You will notice there is no m,antion to negative sides. Its advertisement, just talking about positive emotions. And you can see they are not "delivering" even an answer to serious bugs, not to mantion that you have to come here and ask/beg for a solution instead of DLINK giving the high quality service.

On their website, when you post an error/bug report, an email is sent to you stating they care and they will answer. Two months later no answer has arrived at all. I found my answer in the forum. It's intelligent. Instead of paying for customer department, let volunteers do customer service.

I agree.  Without the intelligent help that others are willing to post we would not be where we are as far as getting out problems solved.  The only problem is that we do not have access to firmware that they do.

Maybe the volunteers are D-Link's support.  It really is sad that a company chooses to not support their products. If you look at some of the other forums you will see the same thing there.  If D-Link does not wake up and choose to support their products we as customers can choose to purchase other brands of products.  I am certainly not recommending D-Link to anyone.

I wouldn't go so far as counter-advertising. Dlink has still some merits on its own. But people should know that companies most of the time lie with the intent to gain money and reputation. And CEOs most of the time lie about the health of their company.

Other companies does the same. British Airways owes me $3000 because of some "error" on their billing system. It is 2.5 months now and they are still "processing" my case in the refunds department. Meanwhile, the CEO says the best words about BA customer service despite people is struggling to get their money back since three months.

This is the world. Who has the power lies in order to keep it.
