IP not updating with getmyip.com (Free DynDNS)
« on: April 17, 2010, 08:00:57 PM »

System Config:
Linksys WRT310Nv2 Router
Comcast ISP
DNS 323 Server Attach to a switch or direct to router same result.
xxxx.getmyip.com (Free DynDNS version)

Hi. I hope someone can help me. Please excuse me, if this question has been answered. I have look all over the net with no answer avail., and need help quick. My DNS 323 was running fine for 6 months, until I move to this new location, with same ISP, Comcast.

It appears getmyip.com showing I'm using my local IP 192.168.1.x & not my ISP IP.  Everytime, I have to log into getmyip.com and reset IP to work, but only for sometime like 12hrs or just until the next morning. I don't know if is my Router, getmyip.com, the DNS323 or something else?

Big Thx!

Why not use the Router's DDNS service instead of the NAS DDNS?

here's an update:  Forgot, I have put an existing router (Advance configuration via WAN) in my LAN with DDNS also turn on, that is why my Primary Router and this router both sending my IP incorrectly to DynDNS with conflicting local/public IP.

Resolution: Disabled the exisiting router DDNS. Works as a charm.  :)
