DIR-655 & Pixma 780
« on: April 30, 2009, 04:26:01 PM »

First time posting long time browsing forums.

Just finished installing firmware 1.31 and shareport 1.10 on a Vista 64 laptop. Firmware seems to be working fine so far. However, I am having trouble with shareport. I uninstall shareport 1.14 and then isntalled 1.10 utility found drivers and installed them, setup for auto-connect to printer and printed one page with no problem. I then tired printing a 14 page document and only half of the first page printed... and that's all. I can see that in the spooler the document spooling and then it disappears. Read FAQs, searched forums for printer problems, increased "time to disconnect" setting, uninstalled utility and printer drivers. Dowloaded latest printer drivers for Vista 64 and installed them, installed utility, utility loaded drivers found printer and fax but so far I can only print on page. Looking for help or suggestions. Thanks.

All I know is that Canon uses some unorthodox driver installs. There is another posting somewhere on the forum concerning Canon printer that would not work.

Try what I suggested in other threads, i.e.
  • Enable Multicast Streams on the router
  • In SharePort utility go to Options/Search for Device Servers and ADD 192.168.0.255 (your broadcast address)

This solved the problem for me specifically for Vista 64 bit (I also have Vista 32 bit which works out of box).

Hope it helps
