After updating my firmware to 1.08 yesterday, access via my previously mapped drive and all other attempts to access the volume_1 share are thwarted by a login prompt. I never had to login prior to the update.

Using a web interface to the unit is no problem, but despite using all know login username/password combos, I'm unable to access the actual data.

I searched through the forums for a similar post and didn't find any, so apologies if this has been asked and answered. Either a link to a previous post or some indication as to the direction I should take, would be appreciated.

Todd.

I was able to RESET the Network Access Settings and am now able to access my data via a share or UNC without the username/password challenge.

However, the question remains; how did that happen in the first place?

You didn't say which firmware version you upgraded from, but the share permissions system changed in 1.07 and 1.08 so that you couldn't have "anonymous shares" if you had at least one password protected share.
