DIR-825 can not be set to 20/40 auto in N-mode

3) The channel width needs to be set to 20/40Auto, if it is not, the adapter will report a connection speed of 130Mbps. This is a feature that was added for compatibility with Intel 802.11N adapters, as they only operate on a channel width of 20.

I have read the 300MB/s sticky, and I have a problem with:

I updated my Intel 5300 driver and was finally able to connect to my DIR-825 N network.

However, I can't get the setting 20/40 Auto to stick on the DIR-825.

Everytime I save and reboot, the setting reads 20.

Very confused.

Okay, I had to set the 5gHz channel to A/N not just N in order to get 20/40 to stick, and I updated my driver.

Should I be able to just use N vs. A/N ?

thanks!

I switched back to just N, and I can connect now w/ the updated 2010 Intel driver.

Is there a bug with Hardware Version: B1   Firmware Version: 2.02NA  ?

I can not set 20/40 Auto in the 5gHz side.....my Intel adapter only has options to set for 20 or Auto.

I can set 20/40 Auto in A/N....but I'm not in Wide mode at 150Mbps.

many thanks

Try firmware 2.03.  I believe that problem was fixed, at least it was on mine.

Would be great if could get the firmware to update.

I reset to defaults in the webGUI, then I manually hard rebooted the router.

Then I created an admin password.

I still get:

The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this Gateway, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the gateway may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a "user" instead of an "admin" - only administrators can upload new firmware.

The Gateway will not be reprogrammed.

On a wired connection.

A .zip file is a compressed one.  Try extracting that file to a folder on your desktop.  Then point the updater to the .bin file in the folder, then it should update.

Yeah, I think someone put crack in my cilantro. I got home from the beach, and it just hit me. I have been working with SCORM packages at work and we upload zips for execution......so funny. I even brought the router for exchange to Office Depot.....they gave me $15 back for the exchange. I'm not complaining.

I can now save 20/40 Auto in N-only mode.

Now to see what happens with the Intel 5300.....

thanks for your patience all!
