My high speed modem is in the basement and all my computers are on the 2nd floor. Do i hook up a switch to the modem and put the DI-655 upstairs or vica-versa? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You might could run an ethernet cable over that distance from basement up to second floor....If you have a cable (or telephone) port on the seond floor, just move the modem upstairs too....

You don't say what type of connection your ISP is using (DSL or Cable etc...)
