I really hope a guru on here can help me out.
I have a DIR-655 router. Everything in my house (minus iphone) is hardwired to CAT6. I have (2) DNS-321 enclosures. Both are on a gigabit switch running directly to my router. I have one named NAS and the other name NAS2.
Here is some info...
I can access NAS and NAS2 as FTP both on my local network.
from web browser Index of ftp://192.168.0.192/
from web browser
NAS
IP address: 192.168.0.192 (static) Port 21
I have the virtual server in my router forwarding port 21 to that IP address and people can access the FTP from outside of my local network. I can access NAS and NAS2 as FTP
NAS2
IP Address is 192.168.0.196 (static) Port 65509
I have the virtual server forwarding this port to the associated IP address. I know the port is open b/c I can check from a site.. Success: I can see your service on xx.xxx.xx.xxx on port (65509)
Your ISP is not blocking port 65509
BUT I can only access the FTP server non local internet. Nothing happens on the 65509 one. If I open 2 windows on my DNS-321 FTP config page, all settings are the same.
I can change in my router port 21 from NAS IP to the NAS2 IP and wahhalahh NAS2 is now accessible via FTP.
I have been up almost all night trouble shooting it, reset the router, upgraded firmware to the 1.33NA, been on tech support with Dennis from India for 2 hrs, and I'm back to about where I started. If I never would have disabled the wireless function in 1.21 I think it would have been working. Can I revert firmwares? Looks to me like it's something in the router. Dennis from india could also see that my port was open, it's the dang router I believe.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll send any information that I can, please let me know what to do.
Thanks.
Brian.
