DFL-260 VPN and Windows 2008 R2 DC
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:49:53 PM »

Hi

I don't know enough about the DFL-260., but what I'm trying to achieve is L2TP VPN for clients to my network. (And VPN Internet access through DFL-260)
My network: DFL-260 as firewall (static public ip) and Windows 2008 R2 as Domain Controller including DHCP, DNS, AD etc

What is the recommended setup for L2TP VPN? Use the Windows server as VPN (RAS) or DFL-260 as VPN server

I have tried to configure the L2TP Server on the DFL-260 and set the clients to get dhcp ip from Windows server, but with no luck.

Is there a step by step guide for this scenario?

Thanks in advance

By default, Windows makes L2TP over IPsec (not pure L2TP). Refer http://www.dlink.com/support/faq/default.aspx?question=DFL-800&page=4 and http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/FireWall/How%20to%20configure%20l2tp%20over%20ipsec.ppt
