Bridge with 2 DWL-3200AP and WPA2 Problem
« on: September 07, 2009, 04:59:58 AM »

Sorry for my double post, but as this AP is more like a enterprise product that a home use product, i have reposted it here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

First of all, i would like to suggest to moderators to open a section for the DWL-3200AP, as for my searches all posts about it were spread through everywhere...

I have 2 DWL-3200AP configured as WDS with AP with WEP key, they work perfectly and flawlessly for about 6 months now.

I have tried to configure them with WPA2 and never could manage to make them work together, i have tried setting one of the as AP and the other as client also as both with WDS and WPA2 and didnt work.

Can please someone give me some help?

Best regards,

Rodrigo Catarino

WPA is not compatible with WDS.

WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK works perfectly in WDS.
WPA-Enterprise (it's mode where you must use RADIUS) is not supported in WDS.

Many times people write WPA and keep in mind -PSK part.

And I'm posting this only because someone is pointing to this topic as a refference.

Even WPA(2)-PSK is not supported by every product in WDS.  I believe that all first gen D-Link products that supported WDS did not allow for WPA(2) to be used with WDS, that said I believe the current generation all do.

If there are any specific combinations of Model/HW rev/FW rev I need to check for someone I can.
