SecureSpot Enable/Disable is Killing us - No 1.34NA either
« on: June 15, 2010, 06:52:45 AM »

Hi,

We have to keep doing the SecureSpot Enable/Disable dance every hour or two now or else our office cannot access the internet.  We have tried to install the 1.34NA firmware which supposedly addresses this, but it does not load into the router (I have done this many times) and the firmware remains at 1.33NA.

I stand to lose another office-day of productivity by going to BestBuy and purchasing a NetGear Router.  Can anyone change my mind?

Thanks,

You must get the 1.34 to load.  A procedure to do this successfully has been mentioned several times on this board.  The crux of the matter is to use connection (cable) one only and disconnect others.  Initialize the router by holding down the reset for at least 30 seconds and then doing your update.  Don't forget to save your settings before you do any of this so you can restore them after the firmware update is complete.

See other previous posts for more detail, if you desire.

It also helped me to have the wired connection that I did the firmware update from plugged into port #1
