Ok I'm out of ideas. Perhaps someone here has had this issue.

I'm using this AP/bridge along with a Linksys WRVS4400N. I have the DAP-1522, running the latest firmware in bridge mode. I'm connecting a computer, printer and NAS to it, extending my network to the basement where those physical devices are.

I have the DAP-1522 configured to connect to my wireless network from the WRVS4400N. The status page shows that its connected. settings for wireless on WRVS:

Lan side settings:
router ip 192.168.15.1, 255.255.255.0
alternate dns forwarding addresses entered cuz the qwest ones suck, they only update their tables once a week.

wireless settings:
B/G/N Mixed mode
Channel 9 2.452GHZ
SSID broadcast enabled
WPA2-Personal 2 (mixed) - which allows WPA and WPA2, auto detect.
TKIP + AES
Mac address filtering on - and yes, the DAP is added to the list.
Channel bandwidth - 20/40mhz auto

Settings on wireless page of DAP:
Physical switch to "Bridge"
most settings under the wierless setup page are grayed out, but of the selectable:
Channel Width : 20/40 auto
Wireless Security Mode: WPA-Personal
WPA Mode : WPA2 Only
Cipher Type: TKIP And AES
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (Also called WCN 2.0 in Windows Vista) is checked.

Now I've played with the last setting, doesn't change results.

Advanced wireless settings:
default settings - I've tried toggleing on and off the Short GI setting, no effect on my problem.

Lan settings:
LAN Connection Type : Static IP
Access Point IP Address   192.168.15.50
Subnet Mask :                255.255.255.0
Default Gateway :        192.168.15.1
*note - I've also changed this to DHCP (just makes it a bit more difficult to locate the IP of the DAP for login, but works. still have the same problem however.

Problem:
Platform - Win 7 x64bit Pro. Clean install - No firewall accept the built in windows one.

The computer when plugged into the DAP always reads "unidentified network - public network" Which is a problem as discovery and file sharing are turned off in this mode. When the public profile is turned to allow discovery and file shearing nothing changes. I still can't see my network or access the internet. When I do an ipconfig to see my IP it is correctly given 192.168.15.102,2,or 4 (depending on howmany other devices I have.) and the correct subnet and gateway.  However I still can not PING my router. No returns. for some reason it just seems to go nowhere but give me and IP. Any idea's... something with win 7 perhaps?

Interestingly when I plug in my NAS, and boot it up. It works about 1/2 the time. Some computers can see it, others cant, and it changes which ones can see it... I have NO idea why, I'm baffled here.  Anyone else have similar problems?

Oh I forgot to add - QOS is turned off on the DAP, and so is Mac cloning on the wireless setup page.  (wouldn't connect with it on)

if you physically connect to your linksys can you pin gthe address of the DAP?

Did you do a site survey on the DAP or did you manually enter in the SSID?

Also is win7 not letting switch to a home network rather than a public? From what I understand if your PC is connected to a public network you will be limited to sharing files on your local network.

Hi.  Any resolution to your problems?

Did you set the DAP-1522 to Dynamic for LAN connection type in the Network settings and save?

Sounds similar to a problem I have getting a friend's setup working permanently.  He lives a distance away in the middle of nowhere so there is no security setup.

Internet connection from ISP to a newer Belkin wireless router out of the box, standard IP of 192.168.2.1, only changed for 20/40MHz setting.  It has a PC via NIC with DHCP setup.  He can take a notebook outside and connect wirelessly with auto settings no problem.

Trying to extend network to another trailer with DAP-1522 (v1.21 firmware, standard IP) set to bridge.
Site survey connects to Belkin and shows reception of ~60% +/- (some trees interfere).
PC-2 via NIC is set to DHCP.  Can access DAP-1522 via web interface if PC-2 given static IP.
Problem is no connection to Internet.  Used ipconfig, etc.
But when switch changed to auto it works fine for a week or so.  After that it's intermittent - not working for a week or more.

Both Belkin and Dlink have subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

Later, his neighbour across the road borrows the DLink (bridge mode, after Reset button used) and can connect to the Belkin via PC-3 NIC (DHCP) and it works really fast.

I tested the long 50' run of Cat5 cable to the Dlink and am quite sure it's fine.  The network connection icon in the bottom right corner always shows a physical connection.  I fully checked out PC-2 and had it working beforehand with wired connections via the Dlink and a Cisco router/firewall.  I've now added a Realtek chipset NIC (to replace onboard one) for further testing.

Any more ideas?
Thanks.

I have no solution to your problem but wanted to post my frustration and disappointment with this product.  I have a Belkin N1 Vision wireless router and using a Linksys G bridge with a 4 port 10/100 switch to connect to my PS3 and Vonage voip router. The Linksys G bridge works well in G mode using WPA2-PSK security. I wanted to upgrade to the DAP-1522 to get N speed connection to stream HD video to my PS3.

My setup is identical to yours, the only difference is I have cipher mode set to AES only. I have also tried the following configurations with same result... intermittent connection:
- tried the PBC method in Wi-Fi Protected Setup (router gives message that connection is successful)
- Disable the Wi-Fi Protected Setup option
- Disable MAC cloning
- changed LAN connection type from static to DHCP
- Disable Short GI

For testing, I used a netbook running WinXP (with the wireless connection disabled) wired to the DAP-1522, it will connect to my network and have internet access only for a few minutes, and then lose the connection. I also tried connection with the PS3, it gets assigned an ip address but cannot access the internet. I would have to go back into the DAP web setup and make a small change (eg. toggle the short GI setting) so the unit will restart, and again it will only connect for a few minutes and then lose the connection.

I've concluded that this unit is not compatible with my Belkin router, and got a refund on the purchase.

You may have to turn off dhcp on the bridge and get the ip address from the wireless router instead.
