Xbox 360 with dgl 4500
« on: June 17, 2010, 10:07:23 AM »

I just purchased dgl 4500. We have out isp router (dsl) coming into the room with the xbox, the computer is in another part of the house using a dlink receiver for wireless. we were using linksy and it worked but son had lots of lag on computer when he plays WOW. So, we thought DGL 4500 would solve this. We hooked it up to the dsl modem and to the xbox, I put the software in the computer . the computer finds the dlink but when I run the set up it doesnt find a connection. the xbox doesnt work either. Help please

Please review the Gaming and Gamefuel sticky at the top of this forum to help you get your 4500 set up.

Since you have a DSL modem and probably has an onboard router, I highly recommend having your ISP turn off the routing function of the DSL modem and bridge it so that the 4500 handles all the data traffic. It's been an issue with others and my own experience with DSL modems/routers causing network connections issues with the 4500 and gaming. Once this is done then review the sticky for continued setup and recommended settings for this router and gaming. Let us know how it goes.
