Users & groups issues

Hi,
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I created a number of groups in order to control access to different folders, but it seems I can only assign a user once to a group.  I was hoping to be able to control folders the way I do on a server with multiple groups which will have different rights on different folders, but all suing the same 20 users.  Also, the 321 has a 10 group max?  Any work around to this?
