DIR 655 slows down traffic
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:27:44 PM »

Anyone done any testing of their connection speed with and without the router online. I've been finding the router taking about 1-2 Mbps off the speed, using Visualware's Myconnection PC to measure. I've not updated from 1/21 firmware, and i'm guessing that's the 1st suggestion I will hear. I was concerned about some of the reported issues of the router failing after updating the firmware.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

I've not seen this issue on my router, and I updated the firmware last year.
Have you checked to make sure your subnet mask is correct. (255.255.255.0)
Try replacing your cables; choose a different port. ( try all this one step at a tme just to eliminate potential problems individually).
Also check to see if the MTU is set to 1500.

Good luck
