VOIP adapter does not work when plugged into DIR-615...HELP

I have a Nettalk VOIP adapter that needs to be plugged into my wireless router DIR-615 in order to work. I cannot make or recieve calls. However when the VOIP adapter is plugged directly into my DLS Cable modem it works withour a hitch,, Any ideas. Tech support was not able to solve the problem. Thanks in advance.
