Vista Ultimate 64 - Shutdown works,sleep mode doesn't?
« on: September 14, 2009, 03:54:44 PM »

Hi I bought a DWA-556 about a year ago and installed on my old Dell.  Immediately had problems with the computer restarting rather than shutting down, so I removed it and stuck it in a closet.  I've just recently plugged into my new machine based on a Rampage Formula mobo and can not get my computer to sleep (shut down works).  My monitor shuts off immediately, but my rig keeps on chugging away.  I've checked all my BIOS power settings and disabled all devices from waking my computer.  Any fixes to this problem, or suggestions for how to find a resolution?

Thanks.

You must have missed something simple. Because I had the same problem with this card after a new build.

It was a Wake On Lan option in my BIOS that was the culprit, but I swore up and down I had it disabled.
I also made sure that the buttons for shutdown/sleep/hibernate have not been changed by accident.

There are a few more things, but make sure, that the simple things are eliminated first.
