Intermittent Internet connection
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:11:30 AM »

Hello All:

I recently purchased a DAP-1522. There are no available network connections near my computer desk, and a wireless bridge sounded like a good way to connect everything.

My problem is my one desktop PC (running windows XP) will not connect permanently to the Internet.

The other two machines (A MAC-mini running OSX, and a laptop running windows XP) wired to the DAP-1522 have no connection problems. The DAP=1522 is in wireless bridge mode, and is wirelessly connected to an older “2WireGateway” that came from our ISP. The desktop works when wired to the 2WireGateway switch. I’ve noticed that all the machines do get assigned different IP address and have the same DNS server info. I’ve also discovered that all machines can ping themselves, but the windows machines can only ping the Mac running OSX.

I’ve updated the firmware in the DAP-1522 to rev 1.20, and installed a new network card in the desktop. So far nothing has helped.

I know very little about networks, but am trying to learn. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks much.
