323 Showing under shared in the finder but wont connect
« on: August 01, 2010, 10:20:15 AM »

Ok, I got my 323 working.  It's directly connected to my macs ethernet port.  Everything was working fine until my girlfriend yanked the power to it by accident.

It still shows up in the shared section of the finder but i can no longer connect to it.  I can connect via ftp and via its iTunes server.  I can also connect via smb when I type in it's IP directly.  I cant connect by going its name in the shared section though.  It just times out.  When i do connect via its IP OSX still shows the named share.

How do I fix it so that I can just connect to the named share like I used to?

These are the both the 323.  No weird funplug or other stuff has been added.

Did you try a regular shutdown and power it on again?

If this not helps, try a hard reset (there's a little button somewhere which has to be pressed for a few seconds). This will set the device to Factory defaults, including FTP and SMB settings; no idea if this forces a re-formatting of the hard disks ... but it shouldn't because they've already been set up.

Factory reset does not affect the data on the drives.
