Malwarebytes detecting: Adware.NaviPromo in Dsptheme.dll
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:15:03 AM »

Did a Malwarebytes scan a few minutes ago and it detected this:

Fichier(s) infecté(s)(infected files in french):
C:\Program Files\D-Link\SharePort Utility\Themes\Dsptheme.dll (Adware.NaviPromo) -> Delete on reboot.

Now shareport doesn't want to work anymore. Now I'm confused, should I re-install it to get the file back but what is exactly a "Adware.NaviPromo"

Just downloaded another copy of shareport for Windows, extracted the files in a folder and did a new scan before installation, it detected the same Adware.NaviPromo malware.

false id. That dll came from the official dlink package. Based on it's name, it's a skin for one of the dlink program guis. Just a guess. I would install it again and just leave it alone, tell your software to ignore it or make an exception on it.
