DDNS & TZO Setup Questions
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:17:52 AM »

I signed up for the DDNS service on TZO a week ago and can't get my 655 to connect.  For my DDNS setup page I have the following settings:
Enable DDNS checked
Server address: www.tzo.com
Host Name: myserver.tzo.com (Have tried many combinations including myserver.com etc)
Username or Key: TZO Key
Password or Key: TZO Key
Verify Password or Key: TZO Key
Timeout:576
Status is ALWAYS disconnect
I have the TZO client running on my server and it always updates successfully so I know my server is updating it's IP address.
What else do I need to do?  I tried to setup a virtual server and have my public and private ports as 8888 & 80 and my only question on this is what is the box right next to the private port and under the protocol drop down supposed to be?
Thank you and any/all help is greatly appreciated.

It should be noted that "DynDNS" has a FAQ that some "DDNS" updaters has been too aggressive in the updates that they have "blocked" that "updater."  It could be also the case with TZO???

What's the error message you get? It should work without any ports forwarded etc.

It just will not "connect".  Or do you mean in the log?

Still unable to connect, here is the message from the log.

[INFO] Thu Aug 12 19:53:59 2010 Dropped packet from 169.254.90.53 to 169.254.255.255 (IP protocol 17) as unable to create new session
[INFO] Thu Aug 12 19:45:09 2010 Above message repeated 95 times

Your help is greatly appreciated!  When I hit save after trying to setup DDNS it looks like it will connect but after about 4-5 seconds comes back and says it is "Not Connected".

Thank you again in advance.

Having multiple clients updating your IP witin the same LAN will cause errors in some cases. So choose one device that does the updating. You don't need more than one updater anyway on your LAN.
