Strange problem: can't get to DNS-343 login page
« on: September 02, 2010, 08:21:38 AM »

Hi,

I am encountering a strange problem and hope someone over here can solve this for me.

I have a desktop(Windows 7), a notebook(Windows Vista) and DNS-343 connected to the same switch. Both my desktop and notebook can access files on the NAS but only the notebook can get to the login webpage.

For the desktop, my browser(IE 8 ) returned me the following error message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."

 ???

Although both clients are on the same switch, did you try swapping the network ports between the two and try accessing the login page?

Yes both clients are on the same switch. Switching the ports doesn't help...

I've found the solution. My internet explorer is set to use proxy server for my LAN. Removed that and it's working now.  :)
