WDTV Live - Need help
« on: September 09, 2010, 01:30:50 PM »

I able get into 323 from WDTV Live using media server to watch videos but it doesnt show subtitles (SRT and SUB) So I decided to use Network access but been struggling with "The network sharing cannot be accessed"

Anybody able help with setup walkthrough or guide for WDTV Live would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

I have no (or at least few) issues using the SMB access from my WD TV Live unit. I do not use subtitles though so I do not know if that works or not.

Setup a share on the DNS323
Assign a user ID and pasword to the share

From the WD TV Live, select
Video -> Network Shares
Select the DNS323 by host name
Select the share

This is with current firmware in both units although previous versions worked too.

also make sure that both the DNS-323 and the WDTVLive are in the same workgroup

I forgot to mention,......

Leave the option to save the user id/password OFF in the WD TV Live.

Connect to the share
Enter the userid / pass
then go back and enable the "save" option and you won't be prompted again.
