Changing ISP providers - wireless no longer works
« on: September 12, 2010, 07:21:04 PM »

I've had the DIR-615 for a year now using Comcast ISP.  Worked fine.  Recently changed to QWEST fiber optic ISP.  Qwest modem works fine connected directly to the desktop.  When I connect through the router, I have problems.  I can login to the router fine and make any changes, but I can't get any outside websites - either through the desktop (direct connect) or wireless.  I'm sure I'm missing something simple here, but any suggestions on how to configure the router with my new modem???

TIA!

Check your Internet connection settings on the router.  ("Setup" menu, "Internet" tab.)  Qwest may be DSL and require a PPPoE connection with userid/password, as opposed to a DHCP connection that seems to be standard for cable model connections.  I don't have Qwest service, so I am just guessing here, but didn't Qwest provide you with something about connection settings?

Good luck!
