DAP-1522 Bridged to a DIR-615
« on: November 04, 2010, 11:06:29 AM »

Hi,

I have recently moved in with Family which have a very large house (5000 Sqft) and are only running a DIR-615. The whole middle of the House is completely open from the bottom-top but I still am having trouble getting any Wireless Signal on my Xbox in the basement. All other devices (Laptop, iPhone, TiVo) can retrieve signal but it is fairly low (approximately -80 to -95).

I am planning on purchasing a DAP-1522 to Bridge to the 615, but I am worried that it may still have trouble getting signal due to the distance from the router and the lack of antenna's on the DAP-1522.

I understand a DIR-825 in place of the DIR-615 would probably solve my problem, but I don't want to completely change my families network since it will only be for a month or so. I have no problem, but non-technical people have trouble adapting to new things...

Will the DAP-1522 work in my situation? and will the DIR-615's Firmware support the DAP-1522 set up as a Bridge?

PS: The reason I chose the DAP-1522 is because within a couple months I will be moving in with a roommate which has a DIR-825, and I would be able to use it in the future.

Don't waste your money..... Look elsewhere .... The DAP-1522 has major issues and many of us seem not able to make do what it is supposed to do.  ::)
